One of the most scenic and beautiful areas of Pennsylvania is in the area surrounding Wellsboro. One thing they have is the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon. Even we have a grand canyon. You can view the canyon from the top or go down to the base of the gorge and hike or bike or horseback ride the trail through the canyon next to Pine Creek, one of the best trout fishing streams in the state. Take at least 2 days to do the trail which is some 30 miles long. There are a few locations along the trail where you can park a car and then begin at the parking lot. We have always packed a backpack full of food and drink and rode the bikes for the day stopping to wade in the creek for a break. The trail is level and easy to ride so that children can go too. |
