Here we are in eastern and central Arizona. We had been to the Grand Canyon and Sedona a few years ago so we decided to go east. Seems like cactus grow everywhere in this state except the eastern portion around Payson. Payson and Globe AZ are in the valleys surrounded by mountains and green pines. They are little known areas except to those people living in the west. The area resembles Flagstaff but with less snow in town. It does snow in the mountains surrounding both cities.

I am sorry to say that much of the areas we so loved in Arizona have been burned in the recent forest fires. One of our favorite towns was Show Low and we are praying the town survives the coming onslaught of fire. My best to the people of Pinedale and Show Low and all other communities that have been impacted by these rampant fires.
