HERE IS WHERE WE STARTED OUR SWISS TOUR, IN RAPPERSWIL AT THE EASTERN END OF THE ZURICHSEE. A VERY SCENIC TOWN WITH A CENTRAL SQUARE ON THE LAKE TO WATCH AND TAKE BOAT TOURS TO ZURICH FOR ABOUT A 2 HOUR TRIP. I FOUND MYSELF ENJOYING THE FISH SERVED AT MOST RESTAURANTS ALONG THE LAKE WHICH IS WHERE WE HAD TO EAT.

THE LARGEST BUILDING ABOVE THE HARBOR IS A CASTLE AND CONTAINS A POLISH MUSEUM.

This farmhouse was along the road to Luzern. It was so big and appeared even larger with the barn attached to the back. Many of these houses are constructed this way throughout the country. Not a bad idea when there is snow on the ground and very cold outside.

The Matterhorn is one of the most popular mountains and an easy mountain to visit from Zermatt. Travel by train or even gondola for closer views. I preferred the gondola which takes you up to to the caverns and a viewing platform to watch the summer and winter skiers below. As usual there is a small restaurant near the cave to get warm and have a hot drink.
