Egypt - an amazing experience!

I travelled through Egypt with 7 friends for a month back in 1997. It was an absolutely amazing experience. Egypt really has everything. There are all the historic sites and in addition to that, great landscapes, nice people, buzzing cities and charming towns.
We started in Cairo, the almost immediately went south, by train. We visited Luxor and Assuan. From Assuan we also went down to Abu Simbel in the southernmost part of the country.
After having been south we headed back up to Cairo. Many people also take the chance to visit the Red Sea, like Hurghada, for example. We didn't, but chose to spend more time at the other places instead...

Pros and Cons

Pros:Great historicqal sights! Colorful cities. Nice people! Comparably cheap, at least compared to Sweden.
Cons:Well, there have been attacks against tourists. Can make you worried.
In a nutshell:Egypt is probably the complete travel experience!

Loved Luxor, stayed in older hotel, centre courtyard with rooster that crowed all night long! You're right, Egypt is not to be missed.
