"From east to west in northern India" India by Maline

We actually entered India by foot.

Coming from Bangladesh, we had to cross a small field until we found a gate in the black fence that separates the countries. This was after having gotten our passports stamped at several places at the Bangladeshi check-point of Chilahatti. Then a looong rickshaw ride took us straight into the countrysida and after an infinity we saw the black fence.

Pushing the gate open we saw a soldier coming out from a small hut on the Indian side.
"Is this India?" I shouted.
"Yes yes, welcome" he answered.
Thus began our journey in India which would take us to Delhi via Darjeeling, Bodhgaya, Varanasi and Agra.

One month in a very intense country. Welcome to India as I saw it.

.

Halfway to Delhi we happened upon a lovely place..

...Bodhgaya.
Bodhgaya was a great experience. Even though it was unbearingly hot, we managed to visit all of the temples that Buddhist nations have put up in this town. Also, of course, we visited the area around the tree where Buddha is said to have gained enlightenment.
In the picture: the chinese temple in Bodhgaya.

Pros and Cons
