Central Market - Suriname

Central Market

Central Market: Indoor market in Paramaribo

Central Market isn't really a shop but consists of several stands where people sell their vegetables, fish, meat, spices, birds in cages, cigarettes and much more.
The market is the biggest indoor market in the Caribbean and surely worth a visit (market places are always interesting to visit).
Actually the market is a shed and a two-floor building but the business takes place on the street too.

What to buy: I can't tell you what you have to take with you from Suriname, but I bought some spices, like massala and masoesa.
If you want to buy, for example, garter, just do it (if you want to take it home you better buy this at the airport).

Directions: The Central Market is near the waterside and behind the busstop.
