Getting TO/AROUND: Most people enter India by plane but of course an arrival overland is possible too.

When you're coming by plane the main airports are Delhi, Mumbay (=Bombay), Madras, Kolkata (=Calcutta) and Goa.

Coming overland it depends where you're coming from. There are so many ways to enter India.

In India the best way to travel is by train. The railway systems are covering almost the whole country and it's a great experience to travel this way. Trains are crowded and a delay is not unusual but who cares.

There are places in India you can't reach by train. In this case the bus is the way of getting around, however it can be less comfortable than the train. In Rajasthan the bus is faster than the train.

Traveling around by car or motorbike is also possible but it can be dangerous because the traffic is undisciplined.

In the cities a rickshaw (cycle or auto) or a taxi are the best means of transport.

Hey Kees, very good tips and photos. But pretty less in number compared to how vast the country is. During your next vist, definitely visit, Mumbai, Goa and may be the South
