Here I am outside the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum. I see dead people... In the tradition of Lenin,Stalin and Mao,the final resting place of Uncle Ho is a glass sarcophagus set deep inside this building that has become a pilgimage site. The mausoleum is open to the public on Tuesday,Wednesday,Thursday and Saturday mornings from 8 to 11 am. On Sunday and public holidays it is open from 7.30 to 11.30 am. The mausoleum is closed 2 months a year (usually from Sept. to Nov.) while Uncle Ho's embalmed corpse is in Russia for maintenance and make-up.

This is Ho Chi Minh's humble residence,the Presidential Palace. He had a stilthouse nearby where he pretended to live. It has a big carp-filled pond where he used to fish and relax.
