I arrived Hanoi by air from Bankok. In a plane, not as SuperJimmy... Holiday, you know. Quite an unimpressive airport. I exchanged $50 and got over 700000 dong, the local currency. Hey, hey! The taxi to town costed 155 dong, I thought. Cheap!!! They laughed at me and said 155000... I lived in the Old Quarter, as most backpacker do. The hotel was OK, and tours in and around the city can be bought at any hotel reseption. I was at the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and the HCM Museum. Well, that's it, really... The rest of the stay I was paralyzed by the gruesome terror act in New York. I didn't really like Hanoi. Too much noise, hawkers and bad food. But hey, I've been there! Have you? |
