"The Appeal of Kenosha" Kenosha by hunterV
Kenosha Travel Guide: 55 reviews and 125 photos
Kenosha is one of the cities in Green Lakes Area in Wisconsin.
It is considered to be a nice weekend getaway in Wisconsin.
We visited it on our way from Chicago to Green Bay on one November day.
The city is located on Lake Michigan north of the Illinois border. It is known for its beaches, parks and a natural preserve which occupy the city’s scenic waterfront.
Remember that in Kenosha, avenues run north-south and streets go east-west.
The city was founded in 1836. Now you can see old mansions and historic sites in Kenosha National Register Historic Districts:
- Thirst Avenue District, 63rd St. and Third Ave.;
- Civic Center District, 57th St. and Sheridan Rd.;
- Library Park District, 7th Ave. and 59th St.

The gardens are beautiful. Another lovely page!
You would be shocked at all the new things in Kenosha now. From Chicago to Kenosha, you went right by Libertyville off of Interstate 294. So great that you were able to visit the Great Lakes area.
I can click on any page on your travel map and be assured of a great travel page.
There's also a high-level security prison in Kenosha, where inmates wear orange overall suits and talk to visitors through a tick, transparent plastic window via phone for 30 mins only. I was there in May of 2007. Cheers, Marina ;-)
Woww... Beautiful, Never heard of it before ;-)
This is a pretty place!
