Nightlife Spot: Iceberg
This high-end nightclub is the newest in the city. it is equipped according to the latest trends, has a VIP Hall, a strip club (called "Tatoo") and a banquet hall. The music was great and pleasant to dance to. But I thought the cocktail prices were a bit too high.

Nightlife Spot: Babylon
You can visit "Babylon" bowling club (on the picture) with "Wineshop" Chezh restaurant that were dedicated in April 2001. They are located next to the museum of local lore, opposite the 'Texas' saloon. You can go ten-pin bowling ($20 an hour for a company of four), then sit in the wine restaurant next door and try dozens of wine brands. It's the only restaurant with Czech cuisine in the city where you can taste delicious "fire dishes". Have fun! There is also a bistro cafe with Ukrainian national cuisine on the first floor, a door to your left as you enter the entrance door. We enjoyed the cosy atmosphere and appreciated the chance to go ten-pin bowling and relax at "Babylon" bowling club.

Nightlife Spot: Pharaoh
My friends and I heard of this new nightclub and one day we decided to go there for there was a ballet program at night there. Because of that program the entrance ticket was 40 UAH (plus 10 UAH deposit for the entrance magnet card). The club is open from 8 p.m., but the program started at about 11 p.m. and lasted for about 45 minutes. This new nightclub is famous already for its super stars performing there: Two Unlimited, Dr.Alban and Nazareth - they all have performed there already and the decision on their performance there was taken at the level of the republic. This nightclub, unlike all others, has three levels, lavish decor and rich menu (although not a very cheap one). Our drinks there costs us about 100 Euro in the long run (for the five of us). This club has a web site where you can read all their rules (in Russian). Here they are:
· To avoid any misunderstanding video is taken at our establishment; · The administration of the establishment reserves the right to terminate the stay of the customers without explanation of reasons; · Forbidden things: to enter with arms, to enter in sports and beach clothes, to bring liquors into the establishment; · Photography and video are only made with prior permission of the administration; · The entrance to the establishment is through the turnstile with a magnet card that is given to each customer at the entrance. The deposit price of the card of 10 UAH. The deposit cost is returned to the customer at his departure at the cash desk. The access on the unreturned card is automatically blocked on the next day; · The administration reserves the right to change the entrance fee.

Nightlife Spot: "Texas" Saloon
This is a very popular nightime destination with the young people. The restaurant has American design, affable waiters/waitresses dressed "like cowboys", lots of dishes of "American and Indian" cuisine, especially for people with a good sense of humor. The only drawback is that they allow to smoke there...

Why not exlpore some of the cafes and restaurants in Sovietskaya and Oboronnaya Streets. Those places are usually pretty full of people, they also have summer terraces. The only drawback is it is allowed to smoke there, if you decide to sit inside, which can become simply unbearable. Here are some names of the cafes in Sovietskaya Street between the central crossing and Heroes Square: "Ultra", "Matrix" night club, "Prolissok", "Alcuba".

Nightlife Spot: Absolute
If you happen to be walking about the city before or after dinner and suddenly remember you have not finished your shopping, drop in at some of the stores in Kotsiubinsky Street or in Oboronnaya Street. Here there are "Absolute" supermarkets, a part of the "Absolute" network. There are big and small shops in these streets where you can buy almost anything you need. For example "Courage" (a French word meaning something like "No fear!", that is, "come on and shop!") supermarket in Sovietskaya Street (at the corner of Heroes Square) and "Absolute" supermarket in Oboronnaya Street (opposite "Vanguard" stadium). Besides, there are a number of small night shops that are open round the clock. They are also located on the three above mentioned shopping streets.

Nightlife Spot: Kotsiubinsky Street
Another nighttime activity is strolling along the downtown streets such as Kotsiubinsky Street that runs parallel to Sovietskaya Street. You can always see lots of people there and just sit at a bench or at a bistro, watch the people and have your tea or drink your beer. The only thing is to mind the pavements that tend to be beyond repair at times. Be careful about the pot-holes!

jumpingnorman Fri Aug 7, 2009 06:58 UTC Love the picture of the Miss Luhansk, hehehe...great updates on your home pages...Norman :) | nhoolb Wed Jul 22, 2009 18:12 UTC Hi Vic-I saw that on AeroSvit's and UIA's websites you can buy the Dniproavia tickets Kiev-Luhansk on-line (they code-share it seems). About USD 100 one-way. When I come over I am thinking of doing that. Maybe something to add in your tip? | Yaqui Tue Jun 30, 2009 19:07 UTC Howdy Victor! Like I said before you live in a fabulous city. I still cannot get over how many wonderful museums, fountains, monuments, statues, squares, and those buildings have so much charm. Thank you for your lovely tour! | staindesign Wed Jun 24, 2009 15:13 UTC Wow! I have never seen a city page quite so developed! I am very impressed!
