City's coat-of-arms
There is the city hymn sung at many festivities in the city (by those who know it).
I decided to translate it for you, fellow travelers:
Hymn of the City of Stakhanov
Words by V.Chistiakov
Music by V.Kozlov
Stakhanov’s glory resounded throughout the world,
He brought fame to his city
Therefore our city is called Stakhanov
And this gives us the right to be proud of it.
Refrain:
Glory to everybody who won a victory!
We are all thankful to these toil-hardened hands.
This city is the only one in the wide world
That was named after a coalminer.
And we believe Ukraine will flourish
For the working hands
Bring fame to it.
Rf.
We love this city
It’s our native city
For our parents and grandparents live here.
We were born, we live and work here
And, as usual, we bring fame to our Motherland.

There were free film shows for the city residents at the movie theater.
There is Saturn film studio in the city that makes different films.

The coat-of-arms of Stakhanov
The city's coat-of-arms reflects the most important things for the city and you can see the foundation year of the first long-term settlement on the territory of the present city of Stakhanov.
You can see the city name written in white letters on a red background: CTAXAHOB.
The shield has the colors of the Ukrainian national flag with the symbols of the industrial glory of Stakhanov.
You can see black slug heaps in the lower part of the shield. They are the symbols of the coalmining industry of Stakhanov.
Here you can also see the Soviet times coat-of-arms of the city.
The Soviet coat-of-arms of Stakhanov was introduced on December 28, 1972 by the decision of the City Council.
The Soviet coat-of-arms was created by V.F.Shilov and M.N.Pushkaryova.

Stakhanov city market, Ukraine
The locals are lucky for they can say, "Let's meet under the clock!" unlike the residents of other towns and cities of Luhansk region and Ukraine where there is no city clock.
The clock tower is downtown in Lenin Square next to GDK - Gorky Palace of Culture - the city leisure center.
