The German Florence

by hunterV - last update: Jan 1, 2008

Zwinger

The State of Saxony

During my study trip to Germany when I was a student I had the privilege of visiting this splendid city.
Dresden, the capital of the State of Saxony, is often called "The German Florence'.
Zwinger pavillions

A Unique City

It's a unique and attractive German city full of art and culture of the past centuries.

Inside the Zwinger

Visiting "Zwinger", a complex of pavillions, is a must for the visitors of the city (on the above picture).

I had the pleasure of experiencing the beauty of this marvelous city two times.
"Altstadt" - the Old Town - is one of the starting points of all tours of Dresden.
There are also a lot of new and renovated districts in the city.

Dresden is among my favorite German cities. I visited it several times and saw how it changed and restored. Thank you Victor for refreshing memory!
