The beauty of the city of Budapest is something that was rivaled only by Prague while in E. Europe. Granted, the new city isn't pretty, but what new city really is?Looking back on my visit to Budapest, I realize that there is a ton to do in this city, uncomparible to any other I visited on my 8 country journey to Europe in 2001. In Budapest you have the old castle district with museums, churches, the labrynth, and more. Then you have the pest side with it's parks, museums, old churches, shopping, and more! You can tell by all my photos that there really is a lot to see, I just can't get over it! If you think about it, Budapest really is two different cities in one because it's split down the center by the Danube River. Castle Hill, Pest, it's great! I love Budapest, Budapest, Budapest, Budapest!!!!
I suggest that you spend roughly 2-3 days in Budapest, depending on what time you leave on your way out. If you can get two full days of sightseeing in, you will be fine. One day could be spent visiting Capitol Hill, seeing the museums, the labrynth, the magnificent churches, fisherman's bastion, and others up there. The 2nd day you could check out parliament, the national museum, Heroe's square, head to one of the public baths, see some of the parks in the new town, and ride the old metro line.
- Pros:Budapest is a beautiful city with lots of sights to see
- Cons:There's lots of construction going on and it uglies the city
- In a nutshell:Budapest- More beauty than construction
