Paris 2001; the 1st visit

My visit to Paris came on a wonderful spring day in April of 2001. I took the Thalys train south from Brussels and arrived in the city at 9AM. I saw all of the sights of Paris, such as the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, Basilica, Louvre, and the Arc de Triumph, among others. I had a wonderful time in Paris, and will probably visit again one day. My 2nd visit to Paris wasn't much different from my 1st stop in the city. It was short and sweet. Although I didn't see the Eifel tower, the Arc de Triumph, or the Notre Dame again, I did just get to relax and see some of the neighborhoods that house the people who inhabit this city every day of the year. I think that Paris is one of the more beautifully cities in Europe for architectural and landscape reasons. If you get of the busy road, there are tons of interesting neighborhoods, parks, and gardens to see. Check them out.

Pros and Cons

Pros:Great architecture, beautiful streets and neighborhoods, ham baguettes
Cons:Too many tourists, though you can get away

A definate must see in Paris is the Arc de Triumph which is a huge arc that you drive around. You don't actually have... more travel advice

yeah climbing the Eiffel Tower is definitely better than taking the lift! Sounds more impressive in the telling!! :) Even if you can only go to the 2nd level that way.. Nice page on a wonderful city
