The name of the cheese comes from the town and where better to try this delicious cheese than in the town that gave it the name.

This shows one of the streets in the middle of the day, no people, no cars and no noise....hard to believe we were not in a musuem reproduction of a "typical" Dutch town.

Yes Canals....finding canals and water in Holland is like finding sand and rock in the mountainous desert of southern Israel...so no surprise here. But I have found that bodies of water, like the desert are very calming, both are very large expanses with little or nothing growing ON them. Often you can hear soft sounds made by the water lapping against a bank or pier, like the sounds of wind purring through the desert...

Pros and Cons
  • Pros:Small "comfortable" town and very peaceful
  • Cons:Not really too much to do there
  • In a nutshell:Make sure you do not miss the Cheese Market Day
