The area around Samobor is know for two things, the production of wine and the making of kremsnite (which is a flaky crust filled with a vanilla pudding as Zdenka so kindly informed me). You can see the vineyards here strewn over the hillsides in straight lines.

You can see the little villages and farmsteads that support this wonderful wine growing area.

This is the main square of Samobor where you will find many small shops that sell their famous "Samoborske kremsnite". Zohara tells me that it is one of the best she has tried and believe me she has tried dozens ^O^, so I take her word for it.

Pros and Cons

Pros:Great place to put your feet up and enjoy kremsnite
Cons:no parking downtown
In a nutshell:Worth the time to try the wine also.

A winery region is enough of an attraction and enticement for a visit:-) kremsnite sounds really interesting... I'd give it a go.

Martin, there's no cheese in kremsnite - it's vanilla pudding. Naughty naughty, too much of wine there!
