| Hrvojka, Martin & Zohara, Zagreb, Croatia |
As I keep saying again and again, the thing that makes any physical places special is the people. Here is Hrvojka who met us (yes another mini VT meet) in Zagreb and immediately took us home because of a technical problem with our hotel reservations. We met that day as strangers, but left as friends. |
| Zohara, Martin and Zdenka in Zagreb, Croatia |
| | Meet Zdenka, (yes, yes, yes, another mini-VT meet) who took time off from her busy schedule to spend two days with us and show us a little of her homeland. I think she was a little scared of my beard in the beginning, but she found that it only LOOKS dangerous. |
| Boris, Zohara, Hrvojka and Tal, Zagreb, Croatia |
| | Boris took us to a small restaurnt on the main square in Zagreb for out first mini-VT meet with him. He also played a trick on us, he told us to meet him in the square under the clock (in every square there is either a clock or a statue to meet under, sometimes both). After the meeting time had passed he called and said "I can see you, can you see me". So we began to look for someone walking toward us and did not see anyone. After another 5 minutes he called again and said "If you cannot find me, look toward the restaurant". Then we looked at the tables there and we saw a person waving at us. He had been there all the time, checking us out to see who in the world these strangers were who were coming to visit Zagreb. He brought us as a "meeting" gift a fantastic bottle of wine. |

Canukatc Sat Feb 24, 2007 23:10 UTC Hey, Martin. Just for the record, the restaurant looks like the Medvedgrad pivnica. I wish I lived in Zagreb so I could go all the time. My son and I split the meat platter and I love their pivo! | Gili_S Mon Jun 21, 2004 12:03 UTC Excellent. I can see how nice the visit here was with meeting locals as Zdenka, Boris & the others, I am very much tempted myself to visit here one day. First we will have to cross fingers for them to beat the English team tonight ;-) | Maillekeul Thu Jun 10, 2004 06:15 UTC Looks like a great city... they should think of cleaning the roofs, though !!!! ;o) | FRONA Tue Feb 17, 2004 13:55 UTC I feel like a movie star!!! too bad I went to that Slovenian weekend from HELL :)) |
