Antonio who organized the VT Portugal meet in May 2009 decided that we needed to see Cabo da Roca, the western most point in continental Europe. Well I am glad he did, it is your last stopping point before you make it to the "western" world, and has a beautiful view to boot. |

|  | Standing on the high point of Cabo da Roca, above the Atlantic Sea you can look southwards and see the cliffs plunging into the waves that have battered them since Portugese sailors and their ships set sail to conquer and plunder the western world. |

| | Looking north you see much of the same, uninviting (at least from a sailors point of view) cliffs that tell you "Don't drop anchor here, there is no safe haven for you". Almost the whole area around the Cabo da Roca has no harbors for ships and access to the sea is by way of very steep and dangerous foot paths. |
