"Ferrara the land of Asli and Lorenzo" Ferrara by Martin_S.
Ferrara Travel Guide: 14 reviews and 30 photos
There are many, many reasons for going to a town, you might be interested in the architecture, the history, shopping, the local food or even the wine, but he best reason I have EVER found is becasue of friends. Here in Ferrara we came to our friends Asli and Lorenzo at their invitation. They and their family opened their hearts and their homes to us, we will never forget our visit there. And be assured Dear Asli and Lorenzo that because of you we will be back again if you will have us.... ^O^ In the picture you can see us in what Alsi and Lorenzo termed "Our Room", thanks guys.
Alsi told us that Ferrara is also known as "the city of bikes" and it was very evident all around us. We saw bike riders of all ages. And the best thing was that a bike rider is respected and accepted as a user of the streets on an equal or better par with motorists. We saw cars lined up behind an old woman riding a bike, waiting PATIENTLY for her to make her way to the intersection and nobody honked their horn or tried to shove past her, it was a wonderful testament to this beautiful town.
Asli and Lorenzo gave us the grand tour of Ferrara old town and the girls stopped to play with the pigeons, just like they did in Venice. So Lorenzo, Zohara and I could only wait for them ;O))) Alsi took a break on one of the lions guarding the church entrance.
- Pros:Asli and Lorenzo live there.
- Cons:Did not see any.
- In a nutshell:Even without our friends it is a lovely town

just a suggestion for the only "cons" of Ferrara: the fog! very interesting home page! actually Sjalen is right, Ferrara is in Emilia Romagna, my beloved region and not in Friuli Venezia Giulia.
Are you sure you don't want to put this under the Ferrara in Emilia-Romagna instead? :)
Martin there is starting to be a trend you girls love feeding the pigeons :-)
Hi Martin. I am probably one of the few Chinese tourists been to Ferrara. The reason I was there is the same as yours, for my friend's invitation.Lovely city!
