Eilat Travel Guide: 386 reviews and 1,125 photos
This is the hotel district in Eilat as seen from the town itself. The whole of the town and hotel section can be walked across in about 30 minutes or so, from north to south and east to west.
Eilat is mainly a tourist oriented town, you go there, do the touristy things and then leave. Or if you like to sit around on the beach doing what is called in Hebrew "Betten/Gav" or stomach/back, in other words spend time just lazing back on the sand, then this is your place.
Took this picture from the western beach looking toward the hotel area on the north shore, with Jordanian mountains in the right side background. Here you can sunbathe literally only a few feet from the border with Jordan.
Or you can take a ride on a camel.....
If you have ever ridden horses, forget what you learned, this is a totally different experience, no wonder they call them the "ships of the desert"....
- Pros:Nice beaches, good restaurants and hiking
- Cons:Sometimes eems only tourists are there
- In a nutshell:good for a short visit or two or three

So glad you did this diving with Sigala ! BTW, its not just a room but its Sigala's school which is in the other side of another Dive School.
Now i want to see you getting serious and doing the 2 stars course. You have no idea whats waiting for you in the Med' sea and especially in the North. Im happy to see you enjoyed it so much.. pitty i didnt make it that weekend, could have joined you. Next time !
Thank you for this tour of Eilat! The boyfriend of a friend of mine is from there, so I decided to look the place up on VT to see what it's like. She always talks about it and wants to go back - the boyfriend is living in Germany now to be with her. I can understand her now, the town looks great and it must be a blast to spend some time there (although maybe too many people).
good morning! ~ greets from sunny/windy orion :0)
I'll be in Israel in June. I have to choose between En Gedi/ mountain hiking and Eliat. I think Eliat will win. Is this the right decision?
Hey your Eilat Red Canyons look like my Lower Antelope Canyon here in Page America (Northern Arizona)...I have a feeling I won't be homesick. ;o)
Great! What's the sea like? Dolphin resort? Is it safe, onsidering the situaton...?
OK, so Eilat is now on the wish list.........it keeps getting longr, not shorter
I'd love sliding from the red canyon directly into the sea... May I consider it as a possibility ? ;-)
wow, an underwater restaurant; looks and sounds pretty cool! if i ever visit eilat i MUST go there! hehe
Eilat brings back great memories...I'm definitely going to have to check out this Red Sea Star next time I'm in town!!!!!
