"Hula Nature Preserve" Hulata by Martin_S.

Hulata Travel Guide: 1 reviews and 18 photos

Sorry that there is no destination in the VT database for The Hula Nature Preserve since it is one of the most important preserves in Israel, and is also important worldwide since it is "home" to migrating birds between Europe and Africa. At one time this resource was almost completely destroyed, but has since been granted a reprieve and been restored in large part. A friend who is a "bird watcher" told me that if we eliminated this preserve that many of those would die because they would have NO RESOURCE to replenish their food supply between Europe and Africa, so is that important or what. Each year you can come to observe the yearly migrations northward and then later southward. This picture shows part of the preserve there in the valley as seen from highway 899, just to the north of the Hula Preserve.
Take a look at the park site:

There are also picnic facilities outside the boundries of the park so we took time with Meta, who was visiting us from Slovenia, and our friends Dimitry, Natasha, Ira and Leonid to have a nice picnic after our walk in the Hula Reserve.
