The Hindu Temple, a different perspective

Here you can see the ocean from the actual temple itself as it is seen through the flurry or prayer flags. Ivan, our guide, explained to us that each and every one of the flags represents a prayer given up to the Hindu gods. So as you can see from this and the previous picture they represent quite an effort to "make contact" with their beliefs. The flags started on the shorline and were in colorful abundance all around the temple itself.

Hindu Temple in the Sea

Near Waterloo on the west coast between Port-au-Spain and San Fernando, just south of the Caroni Swamp there is a Hindu temple that sits on a small spit of land that was hand built by the builders of the temple.
At the time we visited it was low tide and you can see the mud flats where the ocean has receded. The surrounding area has no homes or buildings and when you come to the parking lot and shut off your car there is a definite "air of quiet and peace" there, if you ask me a perfect place for their temple or for just sitting and watching the sea and sky.
