It's confession time: I haven't always lived in Las Vegas, but I can tell you I wish I had. Las Vegas is a richly diverse city that allows a very live and let live mentality.
Every night is a party at the strip. Drinks are free when you gamble and your cocktail waitress is barely dressed. Las Vegas can either be for families or adults only. I've been in most of the casinos to the south of Spring Mountain Rd. I prefer the south side of the strip because I feel it is more upscale and more fun. I have ridden the "BigShot" on the top of the Stratosphere Tower and both times I was scared to death but exhilirated at the same time. I love going to Red Rock Canyon and hiking. I do not recommend doing this in the summer. Las Vegas gets extremely hot in the summer, with temperatures well above 100F. There are jeep trails to explore which have breath taking views (I've scratched my dad's truck on a jeep trail and he was so mad)

Worked up the street at CITIBANK and every lunch was a mob scene . Top of the line stuff all the way and BIG. Put your money in you pocket and leave the casino and hit this place.

I agree with the parking. The Gold Nugget is nice. I thing you should go there once and make up your own mind. If you don't have a lot of money to gamble you can find cheaper blackjack tables downtown.
