Perhaps Dayton has seen better days, but downtown still has a pretty good cultural scene. In summer, Riverscape Park offers live entertainment. The city is small enough that nowhere is very far from anywhere else. Look for the sidewalk sculptures, which add a bit of color to downtown. For fun, visit the Oregon District. |
| | Dayton's Museums For its size, Dayton is well-endowed with some fine museums. The Museum of the US Air Force is the best air museum that I've ever seen--and I've seen a lot (see my other tips). The Dayton Art Institute has quite a collection. And don't miss the Carillon Historical Park. |
| | Five Rivers Metroparks If it's a lovely day, and you're tired of museums, and want to go outside, then check out Dayton's Metroparks system. This is an excellent park system, with a lot of little nooks and crannies to explore. |
