New England's premier coastal resort

In 1602, the explorer Bartholomew Gosnold set out for the New World from Falmouth, England. He discovered this lovely island off the coast of what is now Massachusetts, and named it for his daughter. Since then, Martha's Vineyard has become the top coastal resort in the northeast. Everything here is VERY pricey, so unless you are rich, it's better to just visit for the day.

You can hike, ride a bike, or take a bus tour of the beautiful coast of the island. Shown here are the Aquinnah cliffs.
