"Gem of Western Colorado" Colorado National Monument by Tom_Fields

Colorado National Monument Travel Guide: 30 reviews and 84 photos

Magnificent Sight

In the western part of Colorado stands a vast escarpment, whose western face has gradually eroded. In the process, the rock face has been transformed into huge, spectacular rock formations.

Rim Rock Drive takes visitors along the top of the escarpment, offering great views of this incredible landscape. You need to allow about half a day to take it all in.

Grand Junction

The city of Grand Junction lies a few miles to the northeast of the monument. It offers lodging, a number of restaurants, and some shopping. It's a good place to stay while visiting the monument.
