This town, high in the Sierra Nevada mountains, is on I-80, west of Reno. If you're heading west into California, through the Donner Pass, this is on the way.

It's a great way to beat the intense summer heat. Winter is very cold and snowy, so it's best to avoid going then. If you do, have snow chains on your tires.

Hi Tom, I just found your pictures of Truckee, I can't wait to visit next summer. I was just in Tahoe in Aug. and didn't get a chance to visit Truckee. Thanks for the info. Have a great day, Lynda
