Cardiff: Capital of Wales

Cardiff

Cardiff City Centre
The city centre of Cardiff is full of beautiful buildings, including some of Europe's finest examples of Victorian architecture. These include Cardiff Castle, the Law Courts, City Hall, and the National Museum of Wales.
Inside Cardiff Castle

The Castle

The one true must-see in Cardiff is the castle. Dating back to Roman times, it's been restored, modified, and embellished over the centuries. The guided tours give some of the long history of this landmark.
The Marina

The Harbour

My 1999 visit came during the early phases of the big harbour renovation. I'm sure that the place looks different now. As one of Europe's newer capitals, Cardiff is in the process of re-inventing itself. So some things will not be quite as I saw them.

Hi Tom, What a great page, I was enthralled by the pics of the Bay in '99 - you need another visit to see what it's like today.. failing that I'll try and put some Bay pics on my Cardiff page. Greetings from Cardiff :-)
