"Askainen" Askainen by lumituisku

This is the place where the former president of Finland, Mannerheim, was born in th 1800's. It was also the home of the famous Fleming family long before Mannerheim's time.

Askainen is a rather small village in the Turku area. It's only 29 kilometres north of Turku, by the seaside. There are guided tours in the castle and you can wonder around the garden by yourself. There's also a souvenir shop in one of the buildings in the garden.
