Pros and Cons
  • Pros:It's a 10 minute ferry ride from Horseshoe Bay, and then only a 15 minute drive into Vancouver, you feel like you're a world away from the city. Snug Cove has a great waterfront, and there are many parks to explore here.
  • Cons:You have to rely on the BC Ferries to get here - and that costs a bit of money, especially if you're bringing your car; most places are oriented for luxury vacationers, not backpackers
  • In a nutshell:A great island escape from the city without really having to go too far
