Sidney, British Columbia, Canada
Location: 48° 39' North, 123° 23' West
Population: 11,315 (2006 Census)
Incorporated: September 30, 1952

Strangely, I used to have a page up for Sidney, but I probably took it down years ago because I didn't think it was that informative. I'm going to try to rebuild my Sidney page because while it's true that Sidney is small, it's a cute little town just outside the main BC Ferries terminal in Swartz Bay. I have come here often to pick up groceries before heading into Victoria, but I've also come here to spend a few hours browsing the bookshops before heading back to the ferry home. I don't think I have any personal photos of Sidney, but if I do, they'll be placed here.

In the meantime, you can visit Sidney's official website for more information:

Pros and Cons
  • Pros:Very cute small-town ambiance, a great collection of bookstores, cute storefronts in general, access to Sidney Spit, a nice little waterfront walkway
  • Cons:A rocky, developed waterfront means no real beaches or the feeling of being on a natural coastline, this is a retirement town so it's not the liveliest place, not much to do there except stroll around and windowshop.
  • In a nutshell:A quaint seaside town
