Carolyn's B&B is a cute Victorian home located in a wealthy residential neighbourhood in Cambridge, bordering Belmont. It's about a 20 minute walk from Harvard Square. It's a short subway ride into downtown Boston. It's in a relaxing, quiet neighbourhood and we enjoyed it immensely.
Unique Qualities: Carolyn is an artist so of course there was a wonderful amount of art history books, sculptures and paintings in her living room. As it was a casual B&B we could come and go as we pleased... breakfast was served between 8 and 9 (which included a bowl of fruit salad, granola, muffins, scones or bagels, orange juice, coffee or tea). Our room was cute - we had a Queen size bed, our own little fridge, a TV, a closet, dresser, our own private bathroom, 2 windows facing out into the garden, and a lovely ceiling fan that we used when the air got too hot. We hung around in that room whenever we were too tired from walking around town. It was cozy and it felt like a second home to us. I actually miss it now that I'm writing about it!
Note: I stayed here in June 2002, however I don't know if this bed & breakfasts exists any more as there seems to be no web presence except for this review - hence the lack of contact info.
