Everyone should visit Hawaii or at least some South Pacific islands at least once. We had the great fortune to do the ultimate budget excursion: swapped homes and cars (no cash, no taxes) with someone wanting to visit our city during the Olympics; used frequent flyer miles to get there and back. As a friend told us, "When you've got free lodging and all transportation, you can afford to buy a lot of umbrella drinks." Which is among the many things we did! The picture shows the view from our "home" in Kihei on Maui. |
