Foshan is a small city between Zuhai and Guangzhou (Canton) well known for the production of ceramics. I had the oportunity to visit factories with kilnes with 500 years and still working! This place deserves a visit.
Ancient Nanfeng kiln was built during the Ming Dinasty (1506-1521). For nearly five hundred years the flame has never died out, with constant production. Thus the kiln has been kept complete without any damage, wich is rare in China, it is the oldest dragon kiln left in China and an important cultural protection site of China.
Foshan is one of the most well known places where chinese pottery is made. The quality of the ceramics and it's artisans and artists make of this place a "must go".
