Macau was a territory under portuguese administration untill 1999. It was never a collony, only a trading place where portuguese stayed for almost five undred years. History tells us that the portuguese presence here was agreed by both parts in the 16th century and this verbal agreement was never passed to writing. Both chinese and portuguese rullers trusted in eachother's word. Some of the macanese architecture is from this time, like the famous "Igreja de São Paulo", Saint Paul's Churche. If you go to Asia don't forget to meet this wonderfull place!! |
| | Macau Tower Macau Tower is comunication tower built recently close to the Conference Center. People can go up to the top of this tower or stay in a platform almost on the top. That's what I did. A great view is garanteed. |
| | Ha Ma temple Ha Ma is the godess of macanese fishermen. A big temple exists since, or even before, the portuguese arrival to China. It is a must see place specialy in Chinese New Year because everyone goes there to burn incense and make wishes for the new year. |
