Chiang Mai: The trekking tours can be quite different from each other. You can get to the tribes by Jeep, by bus, by horse, by elephant or simply by hiking. We went from Chiang Mai by Jeep to a point from which we had to walk to a tribe where we spent the first night. The following day we went hiking through the jungle, from one village to the other. On the third day we went rafting to arrive at our final destination, another tribe. Believe it or not, the raft you see on the picture brought us back safely.

Krabi: Buses from Bangkok's Southern Bus Terminal (Pinklao-Nakhon Chaisi Road in Thonburi) to Krabi leave in the evening and get you to Krabi in the morning. You can choose between non-aircon busses and (161 Baht) and aircon busses (290 Baht). They leave between 6:00 pm and 9:30 pm.
If you are flying to Phuket, the transfer from Phuket to Krabi takes about 2.5 h. Try to go there during the daylight because it’s a drive through a beautiful scenery. The transfer from the airport of Phuket to Phi Phi island takes an hour to the harbor and another 2 h by boat.
The pictures shows a road on Koh Lanta, where I rented a motor bike and toured the island. Most roads on Koh Lanta are not paved yet. When I visited the islands there was no electric power line to the south of the island – only the northern part of Koh Lanta had permanent electricity.
