Welcome to a world of excess and luxury bar none. The opulence of Vegas is so bold you either love it or you leave it. As for me, I chose both options. On my visit to Vegas I was recovering from an inflammation of the nerves that had left me weak and fighting bad headaches. The lights of the strip, Fremont Street and, of course, the slot machines gave me killer headaches at times. My solution? Leave the city! We found refuge in the striking beauty of Red Rock Canyon, the unexpected blue popping out of nowhere in Lake Mead and the brilliant structure, Hoover Dam. Please see my Nevada page for more on these wonderful sights! While in Vegas I had 3 wishes... Cirque du Soleil. Try a slot machine for the first time in my life. An unforgettable birthday dinner. Well my wishes and even much much more came true! Here are some of the highlights...
Only in Vegas...
What's tackier than seeing an Elvis impersonator on your flight into the city? Seeing him again on the flight out!!!!!! Ick!!! |

mapakettle Tue Apr 20, 2004 00:57 UTC Hello fellow Canuck, I agree with you about Krispy Cremes, question the prime rib (mine was dry) and love the picture of you in front of my favourite machine. Calgary is great, my kids live there. Pa (mapakettle) | ubqitus Sat Apr 26, 2003 17:26 UTC If & when I go back to Vegas (it's only been 20 years or so), All the Cirque shows will be on the to-do list. Come July, there will be 3 ("O", Mystere, & Zumanity. | mary_birt Sat Sep 21, 2002 21:57 UTC What a birthday all that lovely chocolate!!! | dinhyen Sat Sep 14, 2002 06:37 UTC You look pretty happy being held up by the one-armed bandit :) |
