I spent a week in the Istrien Peninsula -- based in Opatija, I visited Rijeka, Pula, Rovinj and Porec. I will try to reproduce as much of these trips as I can on these Croatia, <A HREF="http://www.virtualtourist.com/m/.108352/958/?s=x" target=newwindow>Pula</A> and <A HREF="http://www.virtualtourist.com/m/.108352/959/?s=x" target=newwindow>Rijeka</A> pages.

This part of Croatia is indeed magical. Modern life blends with ancient history and the result is an atmosphere as peaceful as it is exciting.

The photo above is of the part of the promenade walk from Opatija to Icici and Lovran. All three towns are connected by this seaside promenade and while the walk itself is beautiful, if you stop to explore as well, the treasures you will find are beyond compare.
