Group at Gros Morne, Newfoundland - Province of Newfoundland and Labrador

I’ve been to Newfoundland a few times now and quite enjoyed it each time. My first time was when I was attending University in New Brunswick (1983/84) and a group of us went to the west coast of Newfoundland for the Thanksgiving weekend (3 days in October). It was just long enough to look around a bit and hike Gros Morne.

In northern Newfoundland

The second time was in 1991 with my family. That time, we spent two weeks, saw the east coast, the west coast and drove the Viking Trail. It was lovely, but we could have used a bit more time. I’ve been there a couple more times since then, once in January 1993 for a day and a night in St. John’s and then for a few days and a couple of nights in August 2001. The last two visits were for work.

Pros and Cons

Pros:It has spectacular countryside.
Cons:It's a little remote and relatively expensive.
In a nutshell:I loved it and would love to go back!

I would so dearly love to visit Newfoundland when i arrive in canada later this year.from what i hear the people are friendly and like a good drink!
