"High Desert Town" Victorville by Scotzman

Victorville Travel Guide: 22 reviews and 43 photos

Not a place for me.

I had just interviewed for a position within my company and came out to Victorville to see if it was a place suitable for me to live. Based on what I saw, this was a typical high desert city: An old part of town, a mall, a few hotels, fast food chains and plenty of Joshua trees. The economy in the area seemed stagnant, housing was going up, but more people were in foreclosure than anything else.
For the tourist, this area had very little to offer: A small museum relating to Route 66, a restaurant on the old 66 and Joshua trees (as mentioned previously).

Pros and Cons
  • Pros:Plenty of Joshua trees, on the old Route 66.
  • Cons:Declining economy
  • In a nutshell:Soon to be deserted desert town.
