Hi I have been to this city lots of times. Rotterdam has the biggest harbour of the world and looks very modern at the same time. Before World War II the city had nearly the same looks as Amsterdam, but unfortunately it was totally trashed by bombs in this war. There are only some old buildings and houses left. The Laurens Church and City Hall are two examples of well kept 'leftovers' :o) After the war people started to rebuild the city in a modern way, this is why the city has modern bridges and lots of skyscrapers too. In my TRAVELLOGUE you can see pictures of places nearby Rotterdam. These places are called 'Delft' and 'Delfshaven'. Delft is famous for its blue and white China with orginal traditional Dutch paintings on it and Delfshaven is a harbourplace. In my travellogue I also have new pictures about the VT-meeting in Rotterdam that was held at august 10, 2002. |
