I visited old Jerusalem, when things were rather calm there. I stayed in the old city, just within the walls. I was impressed by the nice old buildings and small almost underground shoppingstreets that kept getting up on downstairs. Also saw that the city, though it was divided into an Armenian, Christian, Arab and Jewish part, was rather peaceful. Arabs and Jews for example were friendly to eachother. Outside the old city, things were less peaceful. In the new Jerusalem around it the neighbourhoods had a hostile feeling. On the picture: Damascus Gate. |

Also, try making it as loud as possible when you haggle, so the salesman will be wanting to finish the process quicker. | KianaInupiaq Thu Dec 18, 2003 02:34 UTC great tips about yerushalayim, cool pics too, great city to live in | KazigluBey Wed Nov 12, 2003 12:44 UTC Great page Sandravdp.
