Budapest is an extremely cosmopolitan city. It's also quite large: much larger than I expected it to be. It felt somewhat like New York City in its level of busy-ness. The culture is young, hip and vibrant--with cafes, galleries and clubs, there is always something going on. Yet it doesn't feel rushed, probably because there is so much open space and so many green parks. Budapest's buildings are beautiful, and her views from atop the hills of Buda are some of the more peaceful I've seen anywhere. |
