"Deer Lake - A Simple Town By The Lake" Deer Lake by victorwkf

Deer Lake Travel Guide: 33 reviews and 63 photos

Deer Lake is a simple and idyllic town located next to a lake by the same name. This town is the gateway to the famous Gros Morne National Park of Newfoundland (which is an UNESCO World Heritage Site).

Due to transportation arrangements to Gros Morne National Park, visitors may need to stay one day at Deer Lake. I stayed at Deer Lake for one day in November 2005 and I must say I enjoyed the simple and idyllic atmosphere here.

Let me share with you my experiences and photographs of Deer Lake, which you may find useful.

Nice to see pics of your travels in Canada, Victor, even when the weather was not really perfect ! I wish you a Merry Christmas and a happy new year !

A nice overview of your experience in small town Deer Lake! Too bad you were there in November, when the weather is 'blah' and most of the attractions are closed or looking very bleak. I agree that Deer Lake is a good spot, especially in Summer!
