Part of my honeymoon in June 2007 | Schonbrunn palace seen from the Neptune Fountain |
Schloss Schonbrunn (Schonbrunn Palace) is one of the most famous and historical sites in Austria, and has been an UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1996.
A visit to this palace is a must if you are at Vienna. Besides the very impressive main palace building, this place also has a huge premises consisting of beautiful gardens, roman ruins, the Neptune Fountain, Gloriette, zoo etc. Enough attractions for you to spend at least half a day here.
Schonbrunn is located at the south-western part of Vienna city and can be easily reached by the subway (U-bahn) U4 line. Hope the information and photos of my visit in June 2007 will be useful to you, and perhaps you can give some comments and ratings :)
Detailed information on Schonbrunn, including history, opening hours, admission charges etc, are at the official website below: http://www.schoenbrunn.at/en/home.html |

| | Here is a photograph of the amazing architecture of the Gloriette, which is located on top of a hill behind the main palace itself. |
Besides the historical rooms of the main palace itself, the outer premises are very beautiful, especially the big and well-lawned gardens with flowers of many colours. | | | Beautiful gardens of Schonbrunn palace, Austria |
