Burano is a small island located north-east of Venice. This island is famous for its relaxing atmosphere, beautiful landscape consisting of very colourful houses, romantic canals and bridges. While Murano is famous for its glassware, Burano is famous for its lace-making and products.

Personally, I think Burano is a really good getaway from busy Venice and offers a cosy and laid-back experience. Therefore it makes an ideal day trip from Venice together with nearby attractions such as Murano, Lido and Torcello.

Let me share with you some information and photos of my trip to Burano, which hopefully will be useful to you.

The colourful houses of Burano are very famous, in fact the colours are very bright such as purple, red, yellow, green, blue, pink etc. It is very nice to walk around these houses.

The San Martino church is a landmark in Burano, and the church tower (campanile) can be seen in most parts of this small island, including the town square area of the island.
