The main shopping area of Kuta is located at the main centre where there are lots of shops, restaurants, pubs etc. It is very crowded her especially during the weekends and at night where beach goers head to this place. Do be careful of the traffic jam if you want to drive.

There are many shops at the Kuta area selling traditional paintings and handicraft items, mainly made from wood and rattan cane. These items are very beautiful and worth a buy for your house or as gifts to friends. Remember to shop around for the cheap deals and always bargain to get a good price.

There is an place at the main shopping area of Kuta near to the Matahari Department Store which has many stalls which sell cheap clothings, including those with Bali pictures and words on them. There are also some handicrafts and souvenir shops around this area too.

Shop at the beach

At Kuta and Legian, you need not go for shopping as some locals will come to you while you are at the beach and try to sell you various items. Also, some locals will lay a groundsheet and sell various stuff along the beach area. They are rather cheap and worth a look, and remember to bargain :) There are even services such as hair braiding if you are interested.
