Getting TO/AROUND: London tube is really the fastest way of getting around in London if you want to avoid traffic jam. It's really well organized and the tube plans can be found at any stop for free. As for the tickets you can decide whether you want daily or just one way ticket and the staff is friendly and willing to help.

Getting TO/AROUND: Famous red bus:) Really nice way of enjoying a little bit of London's everyday life while travelling to your destination. There are many lines and on each stop you have a map available and it shouldn't be a problem of finding the one you need.

Getting TO/AROUND: The fastest way from the Heathrow airport to central London. The train departures from terminals 1,2,3 and 4 and everything is marked really good, so it's almost impossible to miss it. The last stop is Paddington station, from which you can take either bus, tube or cab to your final destination. The price of one-way ticket is 14 pounds and for two-way ticket 26.

I love London - and despite the events of this year - I think the Tube is the best thing since sliced bread for getting around - if only every city had a Metro system that efficient!!! (Better that Sydney's anyway - its atrociously late and poorly run!!!) | amapola66 Tue Mar 1, 2005 20:01 UTC
