When visiting Scotland, one thing which must be done is hillwalking. You will find the most beautiful mountains in Scotland, no matter where you are staying. The mountains that I would recommend climbing are any you can find on the Isle of Skye. The best one in my opinion is 'the old man of Storr'. It is an easy climb, good for beginners or even the most unfit. You will also find the Cuilins in Skye are the most well known mountains and the views from the top are absolutely amazing!

On the mainland, I would recommend Ben Nevis or Ben Cruachan, although there are many more!

It is such an exhilarating feeling when you reach the top of a mountain (puffing and panting and thinking 'I've finally made it' before you collapse on the ground!) Just don't forget to take your camera, cos I have done plenty of times. You won't be impressed if it takes you half a day to walk up and then you can't take a picture to show your friends and family back home!
